New sewage plant at Sabarimala in 18 months
Thiruvananthapuram: Dewaswom Minister V. S. Sivakumar has said that a new sewage treatment plant would be completed at Sabarimala within 18 months.
The
minister was speaking at the review meeting on Tuesday of various
departments in connection with this year’s Mandalam-Makaravilakku
festival season. The construction of the sewage plant would begin on
August 10.
The flyover at Malikapuram and underpass at Marakuttom would be completed soon. He
also said that the state government would complete the maintenance of
the Swamy Ayyappan Road before the festival season. The parallel
pipeline between Pamba-Sannidhanam would also be completed.
Permanent
barricades would be constructed at all places where they are needed.
Another decision was to construct two annadana mandapams costing Rs 6
crore each at sannidhanam. Lower thirumuttom of the sannidhanam would be
renovated at a cost of Rs 2 crore.
A Karunya
community pharmacy would be opened at sannidhanam. A new unniappam plant
would be constructed there. One floor of the Pamba hospital would be
completed before the season. More facility would be provided at
hospitals at the periphery of Sabarimala, he said.
