Sabarimala Festival

The flag hoisting (kodiyettam) day of Sabarimala is on 27th of march 2012(Meenam 14th 1187).The festival celebration is on for 10 days.Pallivetta is held on the ninth day of the festival.Lord Ayyappan escorted by the Bhoothaganangal reaches Saramkuthi where the lord holds Pallivetta and as a symbolic reprsetation of this events, a procession is held,even 'Nayattuvili'will be held.On the tenth day Painguni festival and Arattu will be held.The Arattu is 5th April on the Uthram star of Meena(malayalam month).

Pamba feast (Sadhya)

Sabariamala devotees consider the holy river Pamba as the one that can help them attain moksha or salvation.The hole Holiness of Sabarimala and Swami Ayyappa is invokes the river Pamba.Pamba Sadhya is a ritual filled with faith in the Lord are performed on the banks of the river Pamba.Lakhs of devotees who reach pamba prepare the sadhya from the ingredients taken from the rear section of the Irumudikettu.Praising the Lord for his charitable traits devotees sit together and in deep faiths eat the Sadhya.The Pamba sadhya takes place on the previous day of makaravilakku.The maiden Ayyappas got a special consideration who take part in the Sadhya.Devotees believes that Swami Ayyappa will join in the Sadhya in the form of a Maiden Ayyappa.
