Virtual queue registration to begin tomorrow
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Virtual Q, the online booking facility run by state police to control the rush of pilgrims at Sabarimala temple would be operational from October 17.
Police have made arrangements for direct access to Sannidhanam Nadappanthal from Pampa for pilgrims who register their names through this facility. Pilgrims can register their names on www.sabarimalaq.com. One needs to furnish details such as name, age, photo, address, identity card number and mobile number. Groups should enter the details of members separately. Pilgrims can chose the date and time of darshan, according to the availability shown on the site. After completing the registration a printout of the coupon should be taken and it should be submitted at the police verification counter at the Pampa Ramamoorthy temple to obtain the virtual queue entry card.
Over 16 lakh pilgrims used this facility during the last pilgrim season. Ever since the launch of the facility in 2011, over 70 lakh people used this facility. There is no charge for registering in virtual queue. Those who do not use the facility can carry out darshan through the ordinary queue. Details are available at www.sabarimalaq.com.
