Expert 'Vastu Vidya' Team to Visit Sabarimala

An expert ‘vastu vidya’  (traditional architecture) team will visit Sabarimala on January 6 to study and finalise the locations for the renovation of the Malikappuram Devi temple, construction of new prasadam manufacturing-cum-sale complex, Valiyanadapandal and Bhasmakulam.
The team consists of Kanippayyur  Krishnan Nampoothiri, Vezhapparambu Aniyan Nampoothiri, Cheruvalli Naraynanan Nampoothiri and Pala Rajan, Devaswom sources said.
The vastu vidya team will visit Sabarimala as per the request of the Travancore Devaswom Board and the high-powered committee on Sabarimala infrastructure development to finalise the projects under the Sabarimala Master Plan, Devaswom sources said.
The team will finalise the site for the renovation of the Malikappuram Devi temple at an estimated cost of `4 crore. The renovation of the temple include the nalambalam for the temple, locating temples of the Nagar, Navagraha Mandapam, Manimandapam and hill gods. The proposal aims at bringing the locations of these temples to the land level of the Malikappuram Devi temple, the sources said. A new prasadam complex, with facilities for manufacturing of aravana and appam and their sale under one roof, will be another important project. The location of the new prasadam complex will have proximity to the exit road for the convenience of pilgrims, sources said.
The expert team will give priority for the location of the much-needed two-storey Valiyanadapandal, to be built at a cost of `35 crore, the Devaswom sources said. The team will look into need for  the relocation  of the ‘Bhasmakulam’ at Sannidhanam, sources said.
The location of the landing centre of  the proposed  rope-way project at Malikappuram will also come under the team’s purview.
The vastu vidya experts will also visit the Nilackal Lord Mahadeva temple and the Palliyarackavu Devi temple, and  will have a fresh look at the locations of the temples that are being renovated now.
